Carmina Burana at the Royal Festival Hall with Barts Choir
Summer term starts early Monday 14th April 2025, to prepare for Wednesday 21st May
Concert at Royal Festival Hall with Barts choir singing Carmina Burana by Carl Orff.
The Fleet Singers were formed as one of the community choirs encouraged by Barts Choir to come together to perform movements from Carmina Burana with them at the Albert Hall back in 2008.
We were delighted to accept their invitation to join them again to perform the work,
this time at the Royal Festival Hall.
NO rehearsal Easter Monday 21st April but we are rehearsing Carmina Burana
Mondays 14/4, 28/4, 5/5 (though a Bank Holiday), 12/5 and 19/5.
We are also invited to join the Barts Choir for 3 Saturday rehearsals:
Saturday 18 January 11.00 – 16.00 at St Paul’s Church, Covent Garden (entrance on Bedford Street) Saturday 29 March 12.00 – 17.00 at Hinde Street Methodist Church
Saturday 10 May 11.00 – 16.00 at St Cyprian’s Church near Baker Street

We will then have one week off Bank Holiday Monday 26th May before resuming Monday rehearsals.
2nd, 9th, 16th. 23rd, 30th June we’ll be singing from Community Voiceworks a collection of fun, reflective, empowering, and moving songs. We hope to perform at a community event in July.

Collection for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
The concert celebrates songs from films with the Fleet Singers singing beautiful arrangements of film favourites like Over The Rainbow, Singing in the Rain and Moon River. It also features some of the numbers Beth Burrows performs in her two critically-acclaimed solo shows ‘Sirens of the Silver Screen’ and ‘Luck Be a Lady’.

Performance postponed from March 2020. We very much enjoyed revising the work when we were able to sing together again. The choir was joined by professional soloists Emily Burdett (soprano) and Richard Robbins (tenor) who were due to sing with us two years ago.
